How to apply a promo code on Trip.com
On Trip.com the discount is never automatic: every code has to be typed into the "Promo code" field on the payment page. Four steps, the same for every category.
- 1
Pick the code for your category
One code per type of booking: hotels, trains & buses, airport transfers, activities, eSIM, car rental. For trains, the right code also depends on your account (new customer or existing customer).
- 2
Set Trip.com to English and USD
Use the selector in the top-right corner of the site to choose the language "English" and the currency USD before you book. One caveat: these codes were issued by Trip.com's French team and validated in euros. If a code is refused at checkout, switch the site to French and EUR and try again — that is the fallback that works.
- 3
Book as usual up to the payment page
Open the category from our links, choose your route, transfer or activity, and fill in the traveler details.
- 4
Paste the code and check the total
On the payment page, open "Promo code", paste the code and apply it. The new amount appears immediately — only confirm the order once you have seen the total drop.
One code per category: the details
Each page covers the code's conditions, the exact steps in that section of Trip.com, and our tips for booking in Vietnam.

Trip.com for a trip to Vietnam: what is it actually good for?
Trip.com is the international brand of Trip.com Group (formerly Ctrip), one of the biggest travel companies in Asia. In Vietnam it is one of the most complete English-language platforms for everything that is hard to book from abroad.
- ✓
Vietnamese trains without going through dsvn.vn. The official railway website often rejects foreign cards. Trip.com sells the same trains, in English, with an e-ticket sent by email — it is the number-one way our readers use the platform.
- ✓
Transfers, activities and eSIM in a single app. Airport pickup, a Halong Bay cruise, an eSIM installed before you fly: everything is managed from the same app, with customer service reachable 24/7.
- ✓
Very deep hotel inventory in Asia. Trip.com's hotel inventory is one of the deepest in the region, with rates that are often competitive on mid-range Vietnamese hotels.
- ✓
The caveats you should know. Reviews of Trip.com agree on one weak point: customer service can be slow when a dispute gets complicated (canceled flight, refund). Read the cancellation terms before you pay, and favor refundable options.
Frequently asked questions about Trip.com promo codes
What is the current Trip.com promo code?
There is no single code but one per category: TDMHOTEL for hotels, TRIPTRAIN5P (−5%, max €20, new customers) or TRIPTRAIN2P (−2%, existing customers) for trains and buses, TRIPTRANSFER5 for airport transfers, TRIPTOUR5 for activities, ESIMTRIP5 for eSIMs and TRIPCAR5 for car rental — all 5% off unless stated otherwise. Codes updated October 9, 2026.
Where do I enter the promo code on Trip.com?
On the payment page, just before you confirm the order, a "Promo code" field (or "Use a promo code") lets you enter it. The total is recalculated immediately. The field is in the same place on the website and in the app.
Are the codes only for new customers?
Only the train code TRIPTRAIN5P is restricted to new customers; existing customers use TRIPTRAIN2P. For hotels, transfers, activities, eSIM and cars, Trip.com has not told us of any account restriction.
Is there a Trip.com promo code for flights?
No, not among our partner codes. Trip.com runs its own flight promotions on its site, which vary by season. Our codes cover hotels, trains, buses, transfers, activities, eSIM and car rental.
Can I stack several codes, or a code and a Trip.com promotion?
One promo code per order. If Trip.com is already applying an offer to your cart, compare the two amounts and keep whichever is better.
Why do the site language and currency matter?
The codes were issued by Trip.com's French team and validated in euros. Set the site to English and USD using the selector in the top-right corner before booking; if the code is refused at checkout, switch to French and EUR instead — in our experience that is when the discount goes through.
How long are these codes valid?
They are partner codes, not flash promotions: Trip.com has not given us an expiry date. We check that they still work and update this page whenever something changes — last updated October 9, 2026.
Is Trip.com reliable for booking in Vietnam?
Yes, for the most part: the platform is solid, train tickets and activities are issued without problems and payment is secure. The criticism mostly concerns how flight disputes are handled. For Vietnam, we use it mainly for trains, transfers and activities.
