Where the buses leave from and arrive

In Ho Chi Minh City, tourist buses leave from their offices in District 1, around Phạm Ngũ Lão and Đề Thám streets; the big companies leave from their own bus stations, some with a free shuttle from the centre.

In Mũi Né, buses drive along Nguyễn Đình Chiểu, the beach road lined with resorts: ask the driver to stop in front of yours. Buses that end in Phan Thiết arrive at the town's bus station or the company office.

Sleeper, cabin or limousine?

A sleeper bus has three rows of reclining berths on two levels, the cheapest choice for a night ride. A cabin bus gives each passenger (or couple) a closed pod with a curtain or door, a mattress and a charging socket. A limousine is a 9 to 22-seat van with wide leather seats: faster, fewer stops, often with hotel pick-up, but made for daytime trips.

Booking tips

  • The beach road is more than 10 km long: give the driver your resort's name and street number.
  • Going on to Đà Lạt or Nha Trang? Buses from Mũi Né continue to both, so there is no need to go back to Saigon.
  • Bring a light jacket: the air conditioning runs cold all night.
  • Shoes come off at the door of sleeper and cabin buses; a bag is handed out for them.
  • Keep your passport, phone and cash in a small bag that stays in your berth.
