In Ho Chi Minh City, the big companies leave from their own offices and stations (Phương Trang near Kinh Dương Vương in the west, Thành Bưởi on Lê Hồng Phong in District 5), and some offer a free shuttle from District 1.
In Đà Lạt, buses arrive at the inter-provincial bus station, about 2 km south of Xuân Hương Lake, or at the company office in town.
Sleeper, cabin or limousine?
A sleeper bus has three rows of reclining berths on two levels, the cheapest choice for a night ride. A cabin bus gives each passenger (or couple) a closed pod with a curtain or door, a mattress and a charging socket. A limousine is a 9 to 22-seat van with wide leather seats: faster, fewer stops, often with hotel pick-up, but made for daytime trips.
Booking tips
- The last hours climb the mountain road: if you get carsick, take a lower berth near the front.
- Đà Lạt is cool at night all year (often below 15 °C): keep a warm layer at hand on arrival.
- Bring a light jacket: the air conditioning runs cold all night.
- Shoes come off at the door of sleeper and cabin buses; a bag is handed out for them.
- Keep your passport, phone and cash in a small bag that stays in your berth.
