The code is not working β what should I do?
Three common causes: an extra space picked up when pasting, a seasonal promotion already applied to your quote (Yupwego codes are not cumulative), or a quote started before you clicked our link. Type the code in capitals, reload from our link and run the quote again.
Is travel insurance compulsory for Vietnam?
No β Vietnam does not ask tourists for proof of insurance at the border or in the e-visa form, and border requirements can change, so check before you fly. What makes it worth buying is the cost side: a serious accident on the Ha Giang loop or a diving incident off Nha Trang can mean an air evacuation to Bangkok or Singapore, which runs into tens of thousands of euros.
Am I covered if I ride a scooter in Vietnam?
Only if you are riding legally. Insurers exclude two-wheeler accidents when the rider has no licence valid in Vietnam β that means a motorcycle category on your licence plus a 1968-convention international permit, or a Vietnamese licence. Renting a 110cc semi-automatic on holiday with a car licence alone leaves you uninsured, whatever the rental shop tells you.
Can I still buy a policy once I am already in Vietnam?
Yes. In the quote form, state that you are not currently in your country of residence and Yupwego will offer the matching contract. Note that some policies apply a 15-day waiting period on illness-related care, so buying before departure remains the cleaner option.
