Pao's Sapa Leisure Hotel

4.5/ 5
Book on Booking.com

Pao's Sapa Leisure Hotel offers a strong combination of stunning valley and rice-terrace views, spacious and clean rooms, and attentive service that guests frequently praise as exceptional. However, the property is let down by recurring issues with ineffective air conditioning, a location that requires a steep 15–20 minute walk or taxi ride into town, and a spa that multiple guests found underwhelming for a hotel marketed as a leisure resort.

✓What guests love

  • Panoramic views of the Muong Hoa Valley and rice terraces, especially from mountain-view rooms and the rooftop bar.
  • Warm, proactive staff who routinely help with early check-in, luggage storage, transport bookings, and itinerary planning.
  • Spacious, modern rooms with large balconies, bathtubs, and high cleanliness standards.
  • Extensive breakfast buffet with a wide variety of local Vietnamese dishes, Western options, and Indian vegetarian choices.
  • Convenient location next to the Moana Sapa attraction and within walking distance of Cat Cat Village.

!Worth knowing

  • Air conditioning in rooms is often reported as weak or unable to cool below 23°C, and some guests experienced poor water pressure or slow drainage.
  • The hotel is located about 1–2 km uphill from Sapa center; the walk is steep and lacks consistent footpaths, and the free shuttle service is not always available.
  • The on-site spa receives frequent criticism for weak massage techniques and high prices relative to quality.
  • Sound insulation between rooms is poor, and some rooms on lower floors or facing the front have views of a nearby cemetery.
