Riverside Hotel, situated on Quai de Belgique street (now called Ton Duc Thang street), was established as an office of The CARIC Company, a French Shipyard & Ship repairing Company, since about 1887. The property had an architecture of two-storey classical style.

After 1975, the property was transferred to SAIGON SHIPCHANDLER Company, and used as a wine storage and a Club of Seamen.

In 1993, the original property was redesigned and reconstructed into six-storey building, suitable to Its new function as a hotel. The classical architecture was not only maintained but also enhanced on the purpose of making an unique beauty in harmony with the ideal location of the romantic Saigon River. The selection of the motifs has offered a balanced yet not a monotonous symmetry for The Riverside Hotel facade.

From 1998, The Riverside Hotel has become one of the properties of the SAIGON BANK FOR INDUSTRY AND TRADE, with 73 well-appointed rooms and suites to offer both Businessmen and Tourists a convenient stay with a touch of Vietnamese hospitality.
